Summary A young but well-established practice in Central London is looking for a highly talented Project Architect, with 6-8 years experience, to join their growing award-winning practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent design skills and construction knowledge, with a strong focus on sustainable design ideally.

The right person must have:

• Minimum 6 years UK experience post Part III,
• Be ARB accredited
• For this team, also full proficiency using ArchiCAD in practice
• Experience across all RIBA Work Stages, and be comfortable leading on-site, the initial project to join on is currently at stage 4, so focus portfolio samples there to begin with
• Able to enthusiastically and clearly communicate to clients and collaborators
• A portfolio that demonstrates enthusiasm for furthering your knowledge, and focused on housing and mixed-use small to mid-size developments
• Enjoy working both in a team environment and independently, taking ownership of the tasks
• High standard of visual communication and presenting ideas
• Have an interest in technical detailing and materiality
• Have an interest in sustainable design and learning more about this in practice

• With the support of the WoodGreen employment team, navigate local employers and industry stakeholders to identify job opportunities for newcomers.
• Offer guidance on workplace culture and employment rights to help clients navigate the Canadian job market effectively.
• Plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate group programs and activities, including online workshops.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, including statistical data and complete reports, and enter data into relevant data management systems and meet the prescribed targets.
• Collaborate with other WoodGreen teams and agencies to plan services to meet these needs.
• Actively works with schools, libraries, community organizations, recreational centres, faith organizations, local employers, health and family centres, local immigrant groups, malls, ethnic media and websites to maximize newcomers’ and immigrants’ access to resources and to enhance capacity for services.
• Attend community meetings, activities and events, and actively professionally promote WoodGreen.
• Ensure the organization’s anti-racism objectives and community development principles are achieved within the program.
• Participates in regular supervisory sessions with the Manager of Settlement Services.
• Performs other related duties as required from time to time.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, Education, or a related discipline
• Minimum of two (2) years experience working one-on-one to provide employment-focused settlement services to newcomers, including refugees.

• Strong knowledge of newcomer employment is required.
• Fluency in a second language is a vital asset.
• Experience working with low-income, multi-racial, multi-lingual immigrant and refugee communities.

• Cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated experience in case management and supportive counselling.

• Experienced in workshop development, evaluation, and facilitation.
• Strong organizational/planning skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong technology and documentation skills to inform the program and meet organizational and funder requirements.
• Available to work weekend and evening hours and at multi-sites.
