What is the opportunity?

The Director will head the Canadian FICC Advisory team and be responsible for providing leadership in the implementation and maintenance, within the context of RBC’s Enterprise Compliance Management Framework, of compliance programs and controls across the Global Markets business, within RBC’s Capital Markets (CM) businesses in Canada. Product coverage includes FICC (fixed Income, listed/OTC derivatives, commodities, FX), I&TS execution desks in CM and Central Funding.

What will you do?

• Act as the Rates subject matter expert – providing transactional advice and guidance, as required
• Head up and Partner with the business to implement appropriate controls designed to detect and mitigate compliance and regulatory issues and to achieve effective management of the compliance program within the Global Markets business
• Manage the rule universe, control mapping (Tier 1,2) and trigger event analysis as part of OSFI E13 requirements for Regulatory Compliance Management
• Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures and control processes to address the identified risks
• Together with the Director, Surveillance, ensure that RBC Dominion Securities has an effective monitoring program
• Schedule recurring and ad hoc meeting with Desk Heads and Business Heads to provide compliance updates and escalate risks and compliance issues, as required
• Prepare and deliver in-person training and guidance on emerging regulatory developments/issues
• Lead projects as assigned by the business, CM Compliance, Legal

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 7+ years of compliance experience in a financial institution, including a broker-dealer (ideally within a financial conglomerate) and/or Capital Markets, regulator and/or other comparable environment
• Proficient and expertise across FICC businesses
• Leadership experience and a proven track-record of success in managing a successful group
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook Exam
• Strong communication and presentation skills in a group setting
• A University degree (Finance, Economics, related)

Overview of the Role

The VP of Public Product Positioning for Global Fixed Income works alongside the MD of Public Product Positioning, and the respective Heads of Client Marketing, to set product marketing strategy and objectives for Nuveen’s fixed income platform and capabilities. This leader will be responsible for supporting capital raising efforts and acting as a lead on product marketing for fixed income globally. Product marketing supports U.S. and non-U.S. distribution channels and partners closely with marketing colleagues globally in order to provide an integrated marketing approach. Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develops and leads product-specific marketing plans and creates content across global fixed income sectors, including investment grade, multi-sector, securitized, leveraged finance, ESG/Impact and EM debt.
• As a marketing lead and subject matter expert, oversees the creation and production of global fixed income marketing collateral and product content that is aligned with business strategy and objectives.
• Partners with key stakeholders across product, investments, global client group and marketing to ensure competitive differentiation of products and leverage real-time learning to enhance marketing to optimally support sales execution.
• Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans for new product launches, product actions and ongoing systematic campaigns including content strategy, creation, production and distribution through all marketing platforms.
• Drives development and execution of integrated fixed income product and thought leadership campaigns leveraging paid, earned and owned marketing levers that can include digital, social, email, webinar, advertising, event and sales enablement, in close alignment with client marketing partners globally.
• Collaborates with brand, design, content, events, social and digital teams to execute and measure marketing initiatives and ensure proper alignment of resources.
• Partners with marketing generalists and marketing services teams to manage and implement updates of marketing collateral and web content including presentations, strategy profiles, product and market commentaries, web pages, paid search, paid social, display ads and other sales-support materials and content.
• Works with compliance department to ensure materials meet FINRA and/or SEC regulatory guidelines and supports compliance process from initial submission to final approval
