PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in close collaboration with Employment Advisors by: drafting and/or updating job vacancy notices, screening resumes for pre-selection, screening candidates by telephone if required, and carrying out pre-employment verifications such as reference checks and/or background verifications. In the talent module, the Talent Coordinator will also move candidates through the talent pipeline.
  • Primary point of contact for requisitioning process for non-academic personnel which includes responding to hiring manager’s query and any follow ups required with internal units.
  • Oversee the posting process for all non-academic positions; this includes creation of job postings, ensuring revisions and approvals from the hiring managers, ensuring translation is done by appropriate service and posting positions to internal and external websites; oversee the lifecycle of the posting such as effective dates, expiry and renewals/extensions.
  • Administer incoming recruitment documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy of information for effective internal governance.
  • Undertake, create and manage continuous improvement and special projects for EOE and Human Resources through research and, data collection on employment related issues; these projects can include a variety of topics such as updating salary calculation sheets and the use of new recruitment tools (ex. employment verifications) or creation of processes for university initiatives or obligations, benchmarking with other universities or organizations for work processes, procedures, etc.
  • Research issues for the Manager and the Executive Director (includes creation, compilation and analysis of data and information in preparation of external and internal dossiers); prepare dossiers/special project reports (this requires input from a wide variety of individuals, research on a wide variety of topics and compilation, analysis and synthesis of data and information).
  • Support requests for internship placements as well as casual labour at Concordia by maintaining database and matching applicants and host departments; this process includes screening applicants and following up on assignments.
  • Act as backup to the Employment Assistant, during their absence if required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Human Resources, Administration or Business) and two to four years of relevant experience.
  • CHRP designation is highly desirable.
  • Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to work with Outlook and to research information using the internet; experience in creating and managing organizational charts.
  • Familiarity with different Human Resources Information System (HRIS), specifically Success Factors, is an asset.
  • Very good knowledge (Level 5) of spoken and written English and good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written French.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask; ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to be discreet when discussing confidential information.
