What is the Opportunity?

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Web Content

  • Update the organization’s websites and subsites including, but not limited to, rcmusic.com, smartstartprogram.org, and teacherportal.rcmusic.com, ensuring that web content meets best practices, is of a high standard, and tells our story in a succinct, clear, and compelling manner.
  • Build high-quality content for the organization’s websites, working with internal stakeholders to obtain all necessary approvals prior to delivering it to the marketplace.
  • Provide internal support and expertise to content creators within business units to ensure website revitalization projects prioritize user experience and online journey.
  • Ongoing general website maintenance and upkeep including fixing broken links and ensuring the organization remains AODA compliant online.
  • Stay up to date with latest industry trends and best practices related to web technologies.

SEO

  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Digital Marketing to identify opportunities and tactics related to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve search engine result rankings for target keywords and business goals.
  • Implement content updates and assist with executing other SEO strategies from external agencies.
  • Conduct keyword research, referencing the competitive landscape and market trends, to use throughout digital marketing materials.
  • Champion SEO best practices with internal stakeholders.

Paid Media

  • Support with Google pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns including paid search, display, and video.
  • Perform day-to-day search campaign management including building, launching, reporting on, analyzing, and optimizing campaigns.
  • Assist with producing campaign and ad-hoc reports and provide insights and improvements.
  • Assist with establishing benchmarks for key campaign metrics, including CPM, CPC, and cost/conversion, to effectively forecast future campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the acquisition, maintenance and disposition of FortisBC Fleet vehicles and equipment including automobiles, trucks, construction equipment and trailers. Order and receives delivery of new vehicles and makes arrangements for up-fitting; may be required to present rough sketches/drawings of layouts for up-fitting based on user requirements. Coordinates and liaises with managers, fleet management companies, end users, and upfitters on outfitting projects. Monitors the commissioning and disposal of vehicles and equipment. Receives, reviews and coordinates purchase and upfit invoices
  • Selects and orders appropriate components based on approve specification sheets, provides information regarding available options. Escalates problems associated to various components/specifications; utilizes and/or adapts existing specifications or initiates appropriate changes to meet user’s needs. Assembles catalogues of specifications to create light duty vehicle specifications.
  • Effectively presents information to FortisBC employees and suppliers; communicates and coordinates specific workflow processes. Visually inspects and signs off on the quality of work completed, escalates issues to management.
  • Coordinates the installation and removal of fleet specific requirements and provides assistance to on fleet related issues. Assigns vehicles to specific locations and coordinates licensing and registration requirements for vehicles. Reviews GVW ratings to ensure they are correctly applied to all vehicles per industry regulations. Attends to related enquiries from ICBC and others.
  • Ensures drivers of appropriate vehicles have their annual Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permits completed by expiry date.
  • Arranges and ensures all vehicles are in compliance with federal and provincial licensing requirements. Maintains vehicles graphics standards and ensures all vehicles are decaled properly with appropriate graphics.
  • Coordinates vehicle replacements by analyzing vehicle odometer readings and age, and incorporates vehicle and upfit costs for annual budget process. Reconciles vehicle capital costs between fleet management numbers and actual approved invoices quarterly.
  • Coordinates the investigation of vehicle and equipment problems; works with Fleet service providers on a solution.
  • May be required to visit various plants and workshops to review service quality; conduct pre-production meetings to clarify requirements, inspect work in progress, assess deviations from specifications and assist in resolving problems related to work scheduling and/or obtaining parts.
  • Compiles vehicle repair or replace recommendations and may examine the unit. Reviews mileage and history of repairs. Makes arrangements for temporary replacements from FortisBC Fleet vehicles, reviews rental requests and arranges for rental vehicles.
  • Responds to general enquiries and complaints relating to Fleet vehicles. Maintains and updates fleet database and vehicle records and prepares new vehicle status reports.. Produces various reports providing costs, forecasts, statistics, driver or vehicle information for management review.
  • Checks fuel card purchases daily for discrepancies, fraud or questionable purchases. Act on fraud charges immediately. Follow-up with appropriate managers.
  • Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties, which do not affect the rating of the job.

Requirements

  • High school graduation
  • Automotive Mechanical Course, Light Truck Essentials LT-2 course or equivalent. Basic knowledge of all types of makes and models of vehicles/trucks
  • An understanding of ICBC/Transport Canada rules and regulations
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • Three (3) years’ directly recent related, relevant work experience in a utility fleet or fleet management environment
  • Ability to work independently without direct assistance from the supervisor
  • Courteous, professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure during peak workload situations
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems operation, environment and peripherals.
  • Sound working knowledge of applications software in use in the department (AVL software, MS Excel, Outlook, fleet management web based software).

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide administrative support and permit coordination to professional staff in the office while directly supporting the Arizona Engineering and Subsurface Utility Groups.
  • Prepare documents and facilitate permit request, applications, and the tracking of permits from approval to closeout.
  • Assist with project deliverables, timesheets, expense reports in accordance with scheduled due dates.
  • Must be able to meet department project deadlines which may include overtime.
  • Filing and document preparation.
  • Coordinator management calendar, schedule meetings, invitations, and calendar reminders.
  • Preparing meeting rooms and locations with audio and visual equipment.
  • Printing, copying, and binding materials for department.
  • Participate in activities to develop knowledge of work environment including culture, business objectives, goals, operations, work challenges, and career opportunities within various departments.
