The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the assistant or associate professor level in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD). The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders, one of three departments in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, offers a course-based Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MScSLP), a two-year program designed to develop leaders in speech-language pathology through excellence in research, education and citizenship. The program is designed to provide students with the academic and clinical skills required to be eligible for certification through Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and registration or licensure by provincial regulatory bodies. A thesis-based option within the MScSLP is also offered, as well as a combined MSc/PhD program that allows a select group of highly motivated students to complete the MScSLP and the PhD in rehabilitation sciences within a single integrated program of study. Faculty members of the CSD department are actively involved in the MSc and PhD thesis-based degree programs in Rehabilitation Science offered through the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.

The Department of CSD is among the largest speech-language pathology education programs in Canada. The Department currently consists of 11 tenure track and 7 academic teaching faculty members, supported by staff at the Department and Faculty level. Starting in Fall 2024, the MScSLP program will be offered in a distributed education model across 2 campuses in Alberta – Edmonton and Camrose. Approximately 90 students will be admitted in Fall 2024 across both campuses, with 20 of those seats reserved for students from Saskatchewan.

Faculty members have diverse research programs in areas including developmental language disorders and phonological development in children, literacy, multilingual language development, neurogenic communication disorders, speech science, hearing science and head and neck cancer rehabilitation. The department has community connections with several health care centres in Edmonton, including the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Faculty members have close connections (e.g., cross appointments and partnerships) with research and clinical institutes such as the , the and the .

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field, be an independent investigator or have the potential to develop a successful research program as an independent investigator in any of the Faculty and department’s areas of research excellence. Candidates with expertise in fluency, complex communication needs/autism spectrum disorders or dysphagia are encouraged to apply but all qualified candidates will be considered. The candidate will be a collaborative member of the department and faculty, and be committed to equity, diversity, inclusivity and Indigenous initiatives in research, teaching and service.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the entry to practice Masters of Science program in Speech Language Pathology, and supervise Masters and Doctoral students pursuing theses. Eligibility for licensure by the professional college, the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA), is an asset.

Job Summary

The CN Emergency Communication Centre Dispatcher is responsible for providing 24/7 phone and radio dispatching responses to all our CN Police members across Canada and the US. Main Responsibilities

Communication Support Services

· Provide communication and support services to all CN Police staff.

· Use a Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system to receive, prioritize and process calls (public, CN employees, and other local emergency services), then dispatch to the police or other emergency services as required.

· Dispatch emergency calls between CN Police and local emergency services by receiving and transmitting radio and phone calls.

· Maintain accurate, up-to-date files and logs for reports and keep management and executives aware of major events as they occur.

· Receive requests from Constables for information on Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) regarding vehicle registration, driving records, and warrants, and provide pertinent data. Enter information received from Constables into CPIC regarding dispositions, stolen property, as well as the addition and removal of warrants.

· Prioritize incoming telephone calls.

· Coordinate actions between local emergency services and CN forces.

· Monitor CN Police Officers’ safety.

Liaise Between Local Emergency Services and CN

· Maintain regular communication with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to CN in order to address situations that arise (e.g. crossing incidents, derailments, trespassing, etc.)

· Ensure communication of information is relayed accurately and promptly.

· Communicate and collaborate with various internal departments, including Public Affairs, Risk Mitigation (US), and Emergency Response Plan

Working Conditions

The role is carried out in person in an office environment at our Headquarters location in downtown Montreal. The shifts operate on a rotating schedule which are dependent on the operational needs of the CN Emergency Communication Centers (CNECC) 24-hour operation. The incumbent must be available to work weekends and holidays when necessary and must be on-call to respond to critical incidents 24/7. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

The goal of the International Student Advisor, Digital Innovation and Communication is to provide support in implementation of digital tools and systems within the scope of the International Student Immigration Advising team. In addition, the role will execute communication strategy within the International Student Services portfolio. Furthermore,

Incumbent will be supporting international immigration advising to international students at the University of Toronto St. George.

Reporting to the Associate Director, International Student Services, the Advisor will guide students and university partners on the interpretation of immigration and other related government policies within the scope of certification through the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council. This includes one-on-one advising and group information sessions for students, information provision to staff who support students and development of online, in person and remote services and resources. Your opportunity is to provide consistent, timely and current support to international students, internal partners and stakeholders on the documentation and processes required in order for international students to be legally in Canada while studying with the University of Toronto and to fully engage in the learning experiences within their programs.

In addition, the incumbent will be theproject manager for digital innovation projects aiming at streamlining the ISIA team’s processes and improving international students’ experience in doing so by working with all St. George Campus stakeholders. Update immigration policy information and resources on the CIE website and ensure updated video resources for students on the CIE website. The incumbent will be tasked with extracting student data for reporting and communication purposes. Therefore, experience with Azure and Power BI is considered an asset. The role will work as a liaison with IT on creating solutions, migrating web resources and fixing issues.
