Job description: Overview

The Website CMS Manager is a technical role that leads the execution of ACOG’s web strategy primarily in the multi-site Sitecore content management system (CMS) and the integrated machine-learning site search platform, Coveo. Responsible for advancing the product roadmap to achieve strategic goals in collaboration with ACOG’s digital partners. Operates with an end user’s mindset to understand business needs, identify and anticipate intersections with ACOG’s digital and analytics platforms and departments, and translate the needs of users and the organization into specifications for implementation by digital partners. Serves as the subject matter expert for ACOG’s digital products, providing direction, documentation, and training to technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Drive advancement of the web strategy and roadmap in coordination with ACOG’s digital partners to deliver a compelling user experience on ACOG’s primary websites.
  • Work closely with cross-functional colleagues to understand business needs for implementation in the CMS or to gather requirements/specifications leading to development or enhancement by ACOG’s digital partners.
  • Manage the vendor relationship with ACOG’s digital partner to maintain alignment with product standards (i.e., project management, development, UX, and analytics).
  • Oversee, coordinate, and support key platform activities that include, but are not limited to, upgrades, updates, backlog grooming, prioritization, QA, and testing to ensure that requirements are converted into capabilities in the digital products.
  • Build and maintain an intimate knowledge of the Sitecore CMS, Coveo, and other relevant platforms under the web team’s purview to support troubleshooting, configuring functionality, and communicating issues to ACOG’s digital partner while supporting the enforcement of web standards and guidelines.
  • Work with partners to ensure that data points needed in reporting are available in the CMS for analytics and performance tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize, etc.).
  • Assess web analytics, other insights, and new web technologies to support product development and the optimization of digital experiences on the website.
  • Drive the training and documentation strategy for web staff and non-technical content authors through knowledge sharing for new and remediated functionality.
  • Advocate for ACOG’s digital platforms to ensure that colleagues across the organization understand the value offered and the importance of following best practices when integrating with the Sitecore CMS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with progressive responsibility managing and supporting digital technology platforms including web content management, site search, and e-commerce.
  • 3+ years’ experience of web project and vendor relationship management.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Sitecore and using platform functionality to support the enforcement of web standards required.
  • Experience with agile and software development methodologies in the context of web development.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
  • Proven understanding of accessibility and section 508 compliance.
  • Knowledge of web services and APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of association management systems like NetFORUM preferred.
