Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space System Division has an opening for a Sr Principal Engineer Material Process – Printed Circuit Board (PCB), to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

Essential Functions:

Have a high degree of knowledge of materials and processes (M&P) used in the design and fabrication of Hi-Reliability Printed Wiring/Circuit Boards (PWB/PCB). Experience with materials selection, design, drawings, plating, PWB processes, producibility, test procedures and qualification of PWBs. Have a high degree of knowledge/understanding of the industry specifications used for design and fabrication of rigid and flex PWBs including IPC-6011, IPC-6012, IPC-6013, and IPC-6018 among others. Take ownership of tasks, oversee delegated tasks, check results for accuracy and document the results. Participate in design reviews, program reviews, vendor qualification, failure analysis, trade studies and qualification review boards in support of PWB related issues. Formulate detailed instructions/test plans and be the lead in their execution with a proven understanding of data analysis methodologies and knowledge of design and manufacturing processes. Collaborate closely with PWB Subject Matter Experts, PWB suppliers, procurement, design, manufacturing, and quality engineers as well as functional management.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

PCB Routing and Layout Techniques

Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space System Division has an opening for a Staff Materials and Process Engineer – Printed Circuit Board (PCB), to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

Essential Functions:

Have a high degree of knowledge of materials and processes (M&P) used in the design and fabrication of Hi-Reliability Printed Wiring/Circuit Boards (PWB/PCB). Experience with materials selection, design, drawings, plating, PWB processes, producibility, test procedures and qualification of PWBs. Have a high degree of knowledge/understanding of the industry specifications used for design and fabrication of rigid and flex PWBs including IPC-6011, IPC-6012, IPC-6013, and IPC-6018 among others. Take ownership of tasks, oversee delegated tasks, check results for accuracy and document the results. Participate in design reviews, program reviews, vendor qualification, failure analysis, trade studies and qualification review boards in support of PWB related issues. Formulate detailed instructions/test plans and be the lead in their execution with a proven understanding of data analysis methodologies and knowledge of design and manufacturing processes. Collaborate closely with PWB Subject Matter Experts, PWB suppliers, procurement, design, manufacturing, and quality engineers as well as functional management.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position requires a leader as well as a team player who will have significant interaction with management, and engineering personnel from other areas.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) plus 13 years of engineering experience OR Master of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 11 years of engineering experience.

High knowledge of M&P used in the design and fabrication of PWBs (Rigid, RF and Flex) for space applications.

High ​Knowledge of PWB design, fabrication and PWB vendor oversight and related IPC specifications.

Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.

Proven experience developing and executing test plans for analysis and qualification of PWBs, materials or processes.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance OR SCI access.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in STEM

Knowledge of electronics design and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) processes is a plus.

Salary Range: $146,000.00 – $219,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Job Description

Weatherford is hiring a Senior Procurement Specialist – Printed Circuit Boards for our West Hardy Road facility in Houston Texas. The Senior Procurement Specialist will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Our Senior Procurement Specialist has primary responsibility for purchasing materials, supplies and services within established limits and quality, quantity and price guidelines. You will work with items that are readily available and quantities are generally small. Day to day you will be buying from local retailers, wholesalers, jobbers and sales representatives. You will prepare purchase orders, maintain a list of preferred suppliers and prepare routine and special reports as required. In addition you will obtain quotes, negotiate delivery arrangements and you may also be responsible for locating new sources of supply. Level: Performs complex duties and exercise judgment for decisions and problem solving. Work is performed independently with little to no direct supervision. May be responsible for supervising, coaching and training more junior level personnel. This position does not include managers.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Purchase quality products with timely deliveries at the best price.
  • Expedite current purchase orders for delivery.
  • Process and communicate NCR reports with suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts for services.
  • Review and approve technical and administrative content of purchasing documentation.
  • Maintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
  • Provide information to Purchasing/General Manager, as required, for monthly reports.
  • Perform all clerical requirements, as needed with reference to specific responsibilities.
  • Develop reliable sources of supply with sound supplier relations.
  • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
  • May supervise lower level Buyers.
  • Maintain ethical conduct with all vendor relations.
  • Maintain open communication lines with other departments.
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years current procurement of PCA/PCB boards experience
  • Familiarization with manufacturing and service environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of billing practices and controls.
  • Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to effectively work with employees, supervisors, vendors and customers.
  • General computer knowledge including the use the Microsoft Office programs. Knowledge of JD Edwards in addition is preferred.
  • 3+ years of related billing, accounting or purchasing experience
  • College/University Degree preferred
