Title: Payroll and Benefits Specialist Canada

Position Purpose: The Payroll and Benefits Specialist leads the evaluation and maintenance of company payroll and benefit programs to for our Canadian locations to attract, motivate and retain IPG talent. This role acts as a key business partner, providing sound recommendations and advice programs, ensuring consistency and alignment to strategic priorities.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Lead benefit execution, including the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of changes to the benefit programs; ensure benefit plan documents and summary plan descriptions are maintained and compliant with applicable laws.
  • Administer and oversee the pension processes to ensure timeliness and legislative compliance; provide documentation for annual internal and external audit requests. Responsible for completion of annual pension regulatory filings and other legislated reporting, member of Company’s pension committee.
  • Support payroll activities including payroll submission, government remittance and regulatory compliance, time off accruals and record keeping.
  • Prepare various payroll and management reports and support Finance with reconciliation of payroll taxes.
  • Support audits related to payroll
  • Reviews and analyzes the benefits market in Canada to determine best practices, make recommendations to maintain market competitive offerings.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding the pension and benefit program, and act as a liaison with third party consultants to address employee benefit concerns or questions and coordinate employee education activities.
  • Partner with HR leadership to manage relationships with 3rd party providers including contract administration, annual renewal agreements, negotiations and RFPs as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of employment legislation influencing pay and benefit programs.
  • Act as SME for our total rewards offering and provide advice and guidance to HR team and managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred, professional designation in related areas a strong asset.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in payroll, pension, and benefit administration.
  • Experience with payroll and payroll systems a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll, group benefits, retirement savings plans and pensions.
  • Strong project planning skills and the ability to work under strict deadlines as well as managing multiple priorities independently is required.
  • Excellent business acumen coupled with strong research and analytical skills.
  • The ability to leverage data to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and the highest standards for accuracy and precision.
  • A Strong communicator with an exceptional service orientation is required.
  • A self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Advanced understanding of Excel, and database management; HRIS experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR, legislative and payroll policies/practices.
  • English speaking required (bilingual in French and English is strong asset).

  • 4-10 years experience Project Management
  • Shipbuilding & Operations Industry Knowledge is essential
  • Customer facing/relationship management is essential
  • US government contracting or program management experience preferred

Certification and Compliance

Product Planning

This position is Remote working a and the shift pattern is 7 days on 7 days off, flights and camp are provided.

Primary responsibilities

  • Ability to strip, assess and re-build, complete inspection reports for all types of valves including Ball, Globe, Choke, Check, Butterfly, Control, Safety etc. in both workshop and site based environments
  • Ability to strip, assess and assemble all types of valve operators
  • Ability to carry out pressure tests to various specifications
  • Ability to work under own initiative and part of a team
  • Work safely & adhere to company safety systems, standards or any other requirements from customers or their sites
  • Provide safe working conditions for all workers
  • Effectively deal with any incidents, unsafe acts or conditions that have been reported, or which are liable to cause or have caused incidents
  • Conduct regular inspections for unsafe practices and conditions and ensure prompt corrective action to eliminate causes of incidents
  • ·Work in cooperation with other project supervisory personnel to determine safe practices, enforce their use, develop disciplinary procedures for dealing with violations and develop other general safety and incident prevention measures

Qualifications

  • Full drivers license and clean drivers abstract
  • Forklift truck license is an advantage

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in similar role – Essential
  • Experience in a technical (ideally within the valve industry)
  • Experience in a previous focal point Leadership or customer support role
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering
  • No restrictions to working on site

Basic Function
The Nurse Field Case Manager (FCM) is responsible for a collaborative process of ongoing assessment, planning, facilitation, service coordination, evaluation, and advocacy to meet the patient /physician/client needs through flawless customer service. The Nurse Field Case Manager will deliver through expert communication skills and available resources, quality and cost-effective treatment outcomes for the patient. The Nurse Field Case Manager will work directly with the reimbursement team to help secure drug coverage.

Nature and Scope
The Nurse Field Case Manager will help support a case load in Western Canada providing disease state, molecule education and training to patients and care-givers, service coordination, in-clinic and telephone support, monitoring of adherence, and side effect management. Building strong working relationships, collaboration, effective communication and attention to detail both internally and externally are key responsibilities to meet specific team and business objectives. In addition, the Nurse Field Case Manager will attend pre-booked training sessions, complete self-learning assignments and independent studies while adhering to SDM Specialty Health Network Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, and the College of Nurses Standards of Practice.

What you will do:

Responsible for patient and physician case load

Act as the primary resource & contact for patients, physicians, Health Care Professionals and vendors.

Coordinates & facilitates the client progress from enrollment and throughout therapy

Ensure thorough documentation in patient file to ensure continuity of care is maintained and that any changes in patient care are clearly identified and transitioned accordingly

Provide status updates related to reimbursement; patient training requirements; pharmacy dispensing/ delivery/refill requests

Report all Adverse Event (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures.

Promotes communication and coordination between the MDs/pharma/patients/clinic staff and other departments within SDM Specialty Health Network

Provide in-clinic training & build relationships on behalf of the program

Work collaboratively with the Pharma company representatives

Respect confidentiality, advocate for patients/families to facilitate positive outcomes, and ensure that ethical issues are identified and resolved according to the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics

Demonstrate commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement

Maintain high standards of professional practice by adhering to the ethics of the profession and keeping abreast of the latest professional advances

Assume responsibility for personal and professional development

Other responsibilities as required by SDM Specialty Health Network

Travel is required in an established geography

What you will need:

Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted license in the province of employment. BScN preferred, however, a combination of experience and education will be considered

Disease state experience in Multiple Sclerosis (MS)/Neuro, Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Gastroentrology (GI) and Dermatology is an asset; specialty biologic strongly preferred

Proficient in reimbursement landscape and completion of Special Authorization and Appeal Letters

Recent experience with Patient Support Programs (PSP)

Demonstrated customer/account focus and consistently deliver on the PSP value proposition

Fluently bilingual in both written and spoken languages is an asset (French & English)

Five or more years direct clinical experience

Strong telephony skills

Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work under pressure

Ability to provide an organized, efficient approach to case management

Possession of excellent skills in assessment, communication, critical thinking and decision making

Ability to demonstrate understanding of SDM Specialty Health Network policies, legal considerations and professional ethics

Proficiency of computer skills including, Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer); experience with web based applications (Oracle; Seibel)

Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Commitment to the principle of quality client-centered service delivery

Knowledge of case management processes

Valid driver’s license
