Education and Experience:

The individual must have successfully completed an approved Dental Assistant training program that satisfies the WA State Department of Health training or experience requirements. The individual must also hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Dental Assistant from the State of Washington.

The applicant must have at least 6 months of applicable experience as evidenced on their resume, two (2) letters of reference, and a current CPR certification. The applicant must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems. The applicant must also possess knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Description of Duties:

The services to be provided are professional in nature, and will be commensurate with the current accreditation standards and in compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed periodically by institution medical staff and the COR to ensure contract compliance. The Contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association (ACA) Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions.

  • Oral Surgery: Evaluate procedure to be performed. Prepare anesthetic and appropriate instruments with sterile technique and drapes, evacuate surgical field, retract tissue, irrigate bone structure during rotary instrumentation, trim inter-dental papillae, cut sutures, pack surgical sites, remove sutures, treat localized osteitis, and give post-surgical instructions.
  • Operative Procedures: Prepare operative environment, anesthetics, and instruments utilizing sterile technique. Maintain dry operative field; retract tissue; place bases, liners, and retainers with matrices; place, pack, and polish amalgam restoration; and place temporary restorative materials.
  • Prosthetics: Select appropriate trays and impression materials, take primary impression for study models, and fabricate secondary trays and stabilized base plates with bite rims. Pour and trim all models and make minor denture repairs.
  • Radiology: Take and develop infra- and extra-oral radiographs, including bite wings and periapical films. Must also operate and process specialized panoramic equipment and films. Maintain and use automated processing equipment.
  • Endodontics: Place rubber dam, sterilize field, remove temporary filling with rotary slow­speed instrument, irrigate canals, and prepare appropriate medicaments.
  • Preventive: Applies desensitizing agents. Instructs patients in improving their oral hygiene. Performs coronal polishing.
  • Clerical Duties: Establishes dental records and is responsible for the control of medical records while they are in the dental clinic. The Dental Assistant is responsible for the scheduling of patients, preparing the call-outs, and supervising inmate patients. The contractor also evaluates inmate worker performance and insures that hours of work are accurately reflected per policy.
  • The employee has administrative responsibilities unique to the position. This includes making statistical tabulation of all treatment rendered in the dental clinic and epidemiological statistics of inmates admitted to the facility. Prepares quarterly and annual reports to the Bureau from these statistics and other dental clinic activity. The employee may also perform secretarial/clerical duties for the Chief Dental Officer.
  • Dental Lab: Pour impressions, trim resulting models, and do initial preparation of lab prescription forms to be sent out. Responsible for sending and receiving all lab cases sent to Regional Lab and all resultant paperwork.

  • Supply: Maintains adequate stock levels of the expendable supplies used in the clinic. Prepares purchase requests for the purpose of ordering additional supplies.

Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The University of Maryland’s division of University Relations is seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented, enthusiastic professional to serve as a Development Officer for Leadership Annual Giving.

Reporting to the Director of Leadership Annual Giving, this position works collaboratively as a front-line fundraiser for the Leadership Annual Giving team (LEAD) to support all areas of the University to help build the major gift pipeline through the identification and solicitation of donors at the Leadership Annual Giving level ($1,000 – $49,999) throughout an assigned region.

The Development Officer for Leadership Annual giving will have several duties including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the discovery of new donors and solicitation of gifts from the University’s alumni, friends, parents and constituents
  • Actively manage and develop a portfolio of leadership annual giving prospects throughout an assigned region
  • Meet and exceed a set number of metrics including but not limited to: visits (in-person and virtual), solicitations, dollars raised, and referrals to major gift portfolios
  • Identification, qualification, cultivation, and solicitation of mid-level giving prospects to create and grow a pipeline of donors
  • Collaborate with colleagues to help align donors’ philanthropic interests with various priorities across campus
  • Make donor referrals to university-wide major gift officers, as appropriate
  • Provide timely post-visit follow-up, including tracking moves and solicitations, and sending personalized follow-ups to individual prospects
  • Attend university-wide events and University Relations related meetings

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Servicing & Benefit Fulfillment

· Answer dedicated member phone line and email; accept membership and general donations; process ticket exchanges, subscription and single ticket purchases; provide excellent customer service and stewardship for Vox, Friends, President’s Council, and Golden Circle members

· Work alongside the Annual Programs team to fulfill membership benefits (such as booking donor event tickets and reserved parking)

· Attend events and performances as necessary

· Track and maintain Annual Programs member recognition and program listings in the COC’s CRM (Tessitura)

· Support engagement programming for members along with the Annual Programs team and the Senior Manager, Donor Relations & Stewardship

· Coordinate Vox membership programming which includes managing communications and benefits, and facilitating engagement opportunities hosted at the COC and with external partners.

· Maintain event and performance attendance records

· Facilitate administration of on-site donor benefits, such as ticket pickups, and reserved seating

Communications

· Coordinate the annual Vox, Friends, President’s Council, and Golden Circle renewal and fulfillment letter process in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Annual Programs

· Passionately communicate membership value and benefits to current and prospective members via email communications, online, and through donor phone line inquiries

· Provide support for donor prospecting campaigns

· Manage administrative communications, such as gift follow-up and credit card processing error communications for members

Administration

· Coordinate donation coding and work with the Advancement Operations Officer to ensure timely processing and tax receipting and fulfillment for all Annual Programs donations

· Review individual donor membership records to ensure accuracy in the COC’s CRM database (Tessitura)

· Provide general administrative support to the Annual Programs and Events & Engagement teams

· Manage third-party donations, ensuring the timely and accurate coding and fulfillment of gifts made to the Canadian Opera Company from public third-party foundations, such as Benevity Causes, CanadaHelps, United Way, Link Charity, etc.

· Assist in coordinating the repledging process for monthly giving members

· Work closely with the Development Officer, Pipeline & Prospect Management, and Manager, Audience Insights to track donor information and ensure ongoing database record hygiene, integrity, and accuracy

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) and previous experience in customer service, development, and fundraising an asset

· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount

· Excellent customer service skills and attitude

· Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, staff, and the general public in an efficient yet tactful manner

· Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively and professionally
