Role Overview
The EDF Key Account Director will be report to the UK Chief Sales/ Commercial Officer and lead the following key activities

• Maintaining a positive safety culture and a drive for equity and social value
• Delivering growth across all EDF UK accounts in line with business targets for the UK
• Support and contribute to overseas growth via both importing and exporting capability, products, and services

Profile

• Sell and cross-sell the full range of services provided by the Framatome group, supporting the development of these within the UK, where applicable.
• Develop creative value propositions, in collaboration with operational teams, which align to the needs of our clients drawing on case study information, individual expertise and by developing original thinking, engaging with the appropriate individuals within the business.
• Assist with the recording & reporting of customer KPI’s and formal/informal feedback to measure and monitor team and individual performance
• Management of Sales CRM to make sure opportunities are tracked and monitored at transactional, tactical, and strategic level
• Be initiative-taking in the development and maintenance of Key Account Management plans and capture plans
• Undertake internal Framatome reporting activities and meet with colleagues across the group to share best practices and updates
• Lead the activities of the EDF UK account across the Framatome group via engagement with the various Framatome business units operating in the UK

Overall responsibilities will include:

• Market review and account planning

The applicants will ideally have the key attributes and skills:

• Demonstrable experience within a complex stakeholder environment, preferably within nuclear or other highly regulated sectors
• Strong understanding and experience of the nuclear new build market in the UK, including policy, developers, operators, and competitor landscape
• Knowledge and experience of EDF nuclear generation and HPC / SZC supply chain and local areas would be highly desirable
• Embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion and actively promotes within the workplace
• Experience of presenting at conferences, authoring trade journal and LinkedIn articles and/or of promoting nuclear and its contribution to net zero in schools, universities, and industry.

The opportunity
This leadership role provides operational direction for the underwriting and administrative support group, with direct oversight of Account Specialists and Business Coordinators, and assists in guiding the strategic direction, also requires credit underwriting and administrative support for the Relationship Management leads. Responsible for ensuring the team’s credit portfolio remains within CWB’s credit risk appetite while minimizing overall operational risk to the organization.

What you’ll be doing

Provide support and leadership to the Account Specialist and Business Coordinator team to support achievement of department financial objectives through effective and timely credit underwriting for new and existing borrowing opportunities, while balancing risk and reward in line with CWB’s risk appetite.

Facilitate ongoing training and development of all team members through knowledge transfer and fostering an environment of continuous learning. Enhance areas such as risk assessment, underwriting, credit structuring and credit presentation skills within the team.

Assist the team in optimizing overall profitability of relationships, within assigned portfolio, with new and existing clients based on return guidelines, customer risk profile, total banking relationship, and competitive environment.

Manage credit activities to ensure prudent lending with proactive risk management, including appropriate/timely monitoring, due diligence and recommendations, within the assigned portfolio.

Be accountable for timely and consistent completion of annual reviews and reports, while proactively identifying and taking appropriate action on issues, particularly with respect to delinquent, watch list and Out of Order accounts.

Assist with management of negative trending accounts with consultation with AVP & Manager, Real Estate Accounts and Credit Risk Department, as required.

Ensure efficient and effective operations with strong data integrity including strong collaboration with other CWB teams, within the assigned branch/market and Credit Risk department.

Ensure products and services are sold and operate in a compliant manner minimizing regulatory compliance and operational risk.

Act as a credit subject matter expert, including relevant industry and market trends and the associated credit structuring.

Lead the execution, deployment and adherence to all policies and procedures, in consultation with the AVP & Manager, Real Estate Accounts and other key stakeholders, to maintain satisfactory internal audit reports and to meet all compliance department objectives.

Successful incumbent
