Deloitte seeks an Event Specialist in Toronto with solid experience in corporate meetings and events.

What will your typical day look like?

The Event Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end process of planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid conferences, meetings, and special events. Main responsibilities include:

  • Plan, manage and execute high-impact events in various formats (in-person, virtual or hybrid), for both our clients, partners, and our people.
  • Advise our internal leaders on event strategy in order to meet key business objectives, making suitable recommendations on industry best practices and trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Marketing, Communications, Agency, People & Culture, and others, on the design and conception of events, alongside our external network of preferred suppliers.
  • Manage all logistical aspects related to event planning, such as venue sourcing and selection; vendor contracting and management; online registration and reporting, F&B experience, audio visual, space set-ups, etc.
  • Manage virtual event production elements including event platform set-up; broadcasting; speakers sourcing and contracting; rehearsals and dry-runs support; creation of run of show; day of show calling.
  • Oversee conference and complex events’ needs such as hotel blocks, rooming lists, air and ground transportation plan, arrival/departure experience.
  • Manage all aspects of event budgets to include cost projection and avoidance, payments, and reconciliation, working alongside teams such as Finance, Procurement, Independence and Risk Management.

The successful candidate will work in a creative and innovative way to help deliver an exceptional event experience to our clients and our people. The National Events Team is responsible for the planning and execution of virtual, hybrid and in-person events across Canada, and we strive to always inspire, excite, and engage our audience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in an event planning position
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or another related program
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Prior experience with event platforms and applications; Cvent knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to multi-task, managing priorities and concurrent events, meeting strict deadlines in a busy and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent people and communication (verbal/written) skills, with a proactive attitude and committed to long-term growth
  • Flexibility to work overtime, be on-site for event set-up and execution, and travel as needed.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset but not required.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $58,000 – $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. As a Customer Service Center Operations Executive, you will plan, execute and control the Service Quality & Training activities in remote B2C channels (e.g. contact centers) while defining improvement activities in compliance with both internal business requirements and local legislation, achieving consistent Service Quality across Vendors/Touchpoints to the fulfillment of customers’ expectations.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Define and execute service training strategies and processes in cooperation with 3rd party service vendors in order to ensure an effective delivery of RBH’s content to our outsourced service agents and ultimately to RBH’s customers.
  • Monitor quality critical metrics for Customer Care activities to ensure timely and effective control of quality-of-service interactions and customer experience.
  • Implement mechanisms to ensure the required Quality level of the data collected by service agents.
  • Implement and execute, whenever required, auditing and controlling mechanism, provide relevant reports to key partners and Top Management and coordinate the execution of resulting action plans.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of Quality Monitoring system as predictor of Customer Experience and adapt processes and systems accordingly.
  • Supervise system infrastructure that enables to create, store, and disseminate content among relevant partners (touchpoint levels) and develop them by ensuring that business requirements are translated into technical specifications for the Digital partners for technical development of the tools. (Salesforce toolbox, templates to guide etc.). Design, implement and lead the full taxonomy of all Care Content.
  • Manage the deployment of global & local Talking Points to consistently handle customer inquiries at each touchpoint.
  • Engage the organization in continual improvement of Service Quality activities by identifying and initiating alignments and opportunities for improvement within the organization.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • College Diploma or University Degree
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Service Management related positions
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance related environment or similar.
  • Knowledge of Customer Operations quality standards is a very strong plus.

  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews, assessing adherence to contractual agreements and addressing any concerns.
  • Implement sustainable procurement practices, considering environmental and social impact factors, and promoting ethical sourcing.
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to IT procurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. A relevant certification would be an asset.
  • Proven experience in IT procurement or a similar role, with a strong understanding of IT hardware, software, and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for details.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools to streamline processes and generate reports.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ethical sourcing and sustainable procurement practices is preferred.
