Job description: The Talent Crowd are recruiting for Support Workers to work within a private service supporting adults living with Autism in Stoke-On-Trent.
This role is a temporary to permanent role- this means you will work for 12 consecutive weeks full or part time via The Talent Crowd. Then after the 12 weeks you will transfer as a permanent employee subject to a successful probationary period.
You will be supporting vulnerable adults with various needs such as Autism, Learning disabilities, Challenging behaviour, and mental health needs. You will work within a core team of staff who are experienced and knowledgeable about the care needs of the service users they support.
You will need to have six months UK paid healthcare experienced to be considered for this role, in addition you must have empathy, ability to work well within a team and lone working with complete flexibility.
PLEASE NOTE THIS CLIENT IS UNABLE TO OFFER SPONSERSHIP
The shift times are as follows days 08:00-20:00, 08:00-14:00, 14:00-20:00 and nights 22:00-08:00. Your contracted hours will be 40 hours per week which will be varied over a 7-day period. You will have the option to pick up additional shifts if desired.
Your daily tasks will include the following: administering medication, supporting service users out in the community such as attending GP appointments, Shopping, general trips out, providing emotional support, supporting service users with cooking, promoting complete independence, supporting service users that are on 2:1 or 1:1 observation, completing documentation, attending training to remain compliant. In addition, you will be required to support with cleaning, laundry, and cooking therefore you need to have experience of being able to cook and prepare nutritional meals to meet various service users’ desires and health needs.
Requirements
- To have the ability to be proactive and engaging with service users
- To have a minimum of six months UK paid healthcare experience
- To have the right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to work well within a challenging environment whilst remaining calm.
- To have understanding and empathy
- Flexible availability (you will be required to work weekends on a rota basis)
