Job description: Seven Criminal Justice are actively looking for a dedicated and empathetic Substance Misuse Worker to join our committed team in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting people who are struggling with substance misuse issues, ensuring the proper care and intervention methods are employed to improve their overall well-being.
Job Role:
1. Work directly with individuals suffering from drug and alcohol addictions, providing counseling, support, and intervention.
2. Complete thorough assessments of clients’ substance misuse problems and create individualized treatment plans.
3. Conduct regular follow-up sessions to monitor clients’ progress and modify treatment plans as required.
4. Assist clients in identifying and accessing necessary resources and services – such as housing, employment, and medical assistance.
5. Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops to educate clients about substance misuse and coping strategies.
6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and social services to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
7. Maintain confidentiality and respect clients’ privacy.
8. Prepare and maintain accurate client records, treatment plans, and progress reports.
9. Stay current on relevant research, best industry practices and local regulations.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Substance Misuse Worker or a similar role in the mental health field.
2. A recognized qualification in social work, nursing, psychology, counseling or related field.
3. An in-depth understanding of substance misuse issues, intervention techniques, and the recovery process.
4. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
5. An empathetic and supportive approach, with an ability to respect and maintain client confidentiality.
6. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases.
7. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as necessary.
