Summary of Studio Director role A leading international interior design firm is looking for a Studio Director. They’re renowned for creating luxurious and innovative spaces across the hospitality, residential, and commercial sectors. This studio is based in the vibrant design hub of London and is looking for someone with experience in managing a medium to large team and for someone with a strong commercial understanding. This is a rare opportunity to join an established studio at senior management level as studio director.
Studio Director Job Description:
- Ensure optimal alignment of team members with their roles, tasks, and tools.
- Support the Project Management Office (PMO) through effective planning and estimation.
- Uphold the highest standards in project delivery and ensure adherence to established guidelines.
- Guarantee consistent adherence to prescribed processes and structural frameworks across the studio.
- Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to enhance overall studio production.
- Ensure projects are executed within budget constraints and delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate with directors to formulate business strategy and secure new projects for business development.
- Drive innovation initiatives and contribute to the continuous growth of the company.
Skills Necessary for this Studio Director role:
- This role requires 15+ years industry experience.
- Previous experience in managing mid to large teams.
- Demonstrated full project delivery experience.
- Possesses technical skills and firsthand experience in design and project execution.
- Has commercial awareness’ and brings relevant experience to the role.
- Organized, inspiring, and capable of motivating and empowering the design team.
- Passionate about the luxury travel, hospitality, and leisure market.
- Enjoys the work, engages effectively, and communicates well with clients and internal teams.
- Experienced in mentoring and appraising designers, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
