Job description: Sous Chef – Retail/Catering Outlet – £29,000 – Southampton – Work/Life Balance
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join a retail / leisure complex based near Hedge End, Southampton, they serve fresh food, and they are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality to help with preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard
Key Information:
- Salary: £28,000 – £29,000
- Hours: 38hr contract. 2-week rolling rota/schedule, flexible working required – hours typically 7.5hr (weekday)/8hr shift(weekend)
- Location: Southampton
- Contract: Permanent
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- To ensure the food preparation and presentation meets the required standards.
- To keep all working areas clean and tidy
- To supervise and motivate the team when required.
- To comply with the health and safety and food safety legislations
- To monitor portion control, fresh food, and dry store orders
Required skills include:
- A good understanding of produce and ingredients
- Experience in the kitchen and passion for hospitality
- Basic knowledge of food production methods
- Embrace new ideas and processes.
- Positive and approachable manner
