Job description: Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and skilled Social Worker to join our Joint Emergency Team (JET). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality social work and care coordination to the most vulnerable individuals and families. The core of this role involves assessing, planning, and implementing social care support, while collaborating with professionals from other disciplines to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of service users’ situations, including assessment of risks, abilities, and needs.
2. Develop and implement intervention strategies based on assessment findings, in line with best practices.
3. Coordinate with other professionals and services (such as healthcare providers, aid organizations, and local authorities), to ensure a holistic approach to service users’ wellbeing.
4. Provide crisis intervention and emergency responses as part of the Joint Emergency Team.
5. Advocate for service users’ rights and needs at care meetings, tribunals, and other formal proceedings.
6. Continually update professional knowledge and expertise, adhering to national and local service standards.
7. Maintain accurate, confidential records of work with service users, ensuring they’re updated regularly.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or a related field.
2. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
3. Proven experience as a Social worker, preferably within a JET or emergency response context.
4. Profound knowledge of social work principles and practices.
5. Familiarity with laws, regulations, and procedures pertaining to social work in the UK.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
7. Exceptional skill in managing multiple cases simultaneously without compromising quality.
8. Capacity to make sound decisions in crisis situations.
9. Available to work outside standard office hours when required.
