Hours of work: Full time hours between the hours of 4pm and 1am
A new and exciting Senior Mental Health Support Worker opportunity has become available within a drop in service, which offers out of hours support, as an alternative for people with (or developing) mental health needs. The aim of this service is to act as an alternative to hospitalisation or emergency department visits.
Your new service provides a community well-being resource that people can access during a mental health crisis, preventing escalation of mental health problems and supporting people to develop the necessary skills to cope with a future crisis. You will provide a safe, supportive and friendly environment helping individuals in their recovery through promotion of self?empowerment and independence.
The successful applicant will have experience of working in a supportive, people focused environment, with a thorough understanding of mental health needs and excellent communication skills. You will need to be calm when dealing with challenging situations, kind, approachable and solution focused to fully support people experiencing a tough time.
You will assist the Service Manager with the day to day running of the service and deputise for the manager in their absence.
The shift times for this position are on a rota covering 4:00pm to 1:00am.
