Job description: Seven Social Care are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to be a part of our Initial Contact Team based in Shropshire, UK.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. To lead the initial assessment of individuals, families, and communities to ascertain their support and care needs.
2. To design tailored care or support plans addressing individuals’ needs, and ensure these are implemented effectively.
3. Manage a caseload of complex cases, making recommendations for actions considering the restrictions of timing, costs, and resources.
4. To cooperate and engage with relevant community organizations and service providers, promoting partnerships in the provision of services.
5. Provide expert guidance, training and supervision to less experienced social work staff, helping to develop their skills and competencies.
6. Engage with the individuals, families, and communities, advocating for their rights and ensuring they are aware of their entitlements and available resources.
7. Maintain comprehensive records and prepare timely reports, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and data protection policies.
8. Be responsible for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, following all policies and legislation related to child protection and adult safeguarding.
Criteria for eligibility:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (or equivalent), and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Social Work England.
2. Substantial experience in social work, preferably in an initial contact or frontline setting.
3. Proven expertise in dealing with complex cases and making decisions independently.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
6. Ability to manage and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced and changing environment.
7. Full UK Driver’s license and use of a car.
