Job title: (Senior) Account Manager – QuantiFERON (South UK)
Company: Qiagen
Job description: About 10 million people contract, and over one million die from tuberculosis every year, mostly in countries far away from the wealthy West. But TB remains a stubborn feature of Western cities, not just developing nations. With 150 cases per 100,000 people, parts of London in the recent past had higher TB rates than Iraq or Rwanda. Before becoming active and infectious, usually attacking the lungs, TB can lie dormant for years. Experts estimate that about one in four people alive today – roughly two billion – carry latent TB and around 10 percent of them will develop active TB over a lifetime. That means the 10 million people who develop active TB every year represent only the tip of the iceberg. The world has many people enduring active TB – and is teeming with latent TB cases constantly morphing into infectious ones. For the last 20 years, QIAGEN has stood together with Public Health Authorities, from the WHO to Stop TB, with countries and healthcare professionals to develop innovative, accurate solutions against latent TB. We do it with the goal of “leaving no one behind”, because, before anything, healthcare and access to quality healthcare is a right.
QuantiFERON is a powerful premolecular diagnostic technology that delivers results with high sensitivity, enabling the detection of M. tuberculosis infection in the latent stage.
The UK and Ireland QuantiFERON: Immune Response team has consistently over-achieved our targets during the last 5 years in the latent TB market. We now need to recruit a (Senior) Account Manager in the South of England and Wales (South of Birmingham) to ensure we continue this success, as well as expanding our reach into the transplantation market.
If you have an entrepreneurial mindset and relish running your territory as if it was your own business, this role will suit you. If you enjoy and have experience of KOL management, we are keen to hear from you.
