Job Description
We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of responsible artificial intelligence to join the programme to examine the development and deployment of AI in the creative sectors. This is a 3-year post.
RAI UK is a national centre creating an international ecosystem for responsible AI research and innovation. It will enable responsible and trustworthy AI to power benefits for everyday life. This is a £31 million consortium representing the whole of the UK, led by the University of Southampton and including Universities of Nottingham, Glasgow, Swansea, Cambridge, Queen’s University of Belfast, UCL, and King’s College London. Part of our mission is to deliver consortia-led socio-technical and creative practice research that addresses fundamental challenges with multi-disciplinary and industrial perspectives.
This is an exciting time as we work to shape the next four years of RAI UK. The successful applicant will be a part of that, joining a multidisciplinary environment, working with researchers across STEM, social sciences, and arts & humanities, as well as engaging with non-academic stakeholders. We offer mentoring and ECR support, and a travel budget for conference and meeting attendance. This post is based in the Department of Digital Humanities at King’s but will be cross-Faculty and cross-institution by design.
Applicants should have completed or be soon to complete a PhD in arts and humanities, science and technology studies, creative practice, or a related area. We also welcome those with equivalent professional qualifications and experience. The post is offered on a fixed-term contract for 3 years with a potential start date from January 2024 or shortly after.
Interviews are expected to take place on 11 and 12 December 2023.
