Job description: Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Remote Recovery Worker to join our team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will support individuals in their recovery process from mental health conditions, addictions, and other life challenges. This is a remote position that requires excellent communication skills and high-level empathy to provide the necessary assistance from a distance.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide counselling and guidance, helping individuals to take control of their lives and overcome challenges.
– Assist in development and implementation of personal recovery plans.
– Use online digital tools to monitor recovery progress and adjust plans as necessary.
– Organize regular virtual check-ins and meetings with clients to discuss their recovery process.
– Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions.
– Refer clients to community resources or specialists, as necessary.
– Act in accordance with confidentiality and data protection protocols.
– Attend virtual staff meetings and participate in training and development activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
– Prior experience as a recovery worker or in a similar role.
– Degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related disciplines is desirable.
– Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
– Proficiency in using digital tools for communication including email, video conferencing, etc.
– Ability to work empathetically and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
– Excellent problem-solving abilities and resilience to deal with challenging situations.
– Understanding of confidentiality requirements and the ability to respect them.
– Flexibility in working hours to accommodate client needs.
