This position is responsible for assisting with full life-cycle recruiting throughout Canada for Railserve and Procor companies. Provides support of recruitment efforts by interfacing with hiring managers to determine staffing needs, placing advertisements, reviewing resumes and qualifying candidates, scheduling and managing interview process, engaging during the pre-hire compliance process. As a member of the team, this position works closely with HR and Talent Acquisition Leadership to deliver high quality candidates.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partners closely with hiring managers and department leaders to efficiently and effectively fulfill hiring requests.
- Prepares and posts job advertisements to attract potential candidates on professional networks such as Marmon Career site, Indeed and ZipRecruiter.
- Analyzes, screens resumes and interviews applicants based on job descriptions and information from relevant managers.
- Actively sources candidates using industry best practices to develop talent pool.
- Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying reference and comparing qualifications against job requirements to identify fit with position.
- Presents qualified candidates to respective hiring managers.
- Builds strong relationships and develops a network of candidates for future hiring needs.
- Provides interview follow-up communications with candidate and hiring manager.
- Tracks and manages applicant flow in the Applicant Tracking System.
- Provide consistent candidate engagement and communication throughout pre-hire and post-hire process
- Assists in performing reference and background checks for potential employees.
- Provides tracking and reporting of recruiting metrics (i.e. open requisitions, time to fill, turnover).
- Participates in others special projects as assigned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Keep track of employee hiring incentive and referral bonus payout dates
- Create and manage job requisitions in Mpower (Workday)
- Organize career fairs, perform outreach to career resources
- Ability to work hybrid and remote in Edmonton or Calgary area with travel as necessary.
- Consistently meet with leaders to update on hiring needs, successes, challenges and collaborate on recruiting strategies
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:
- Engaging communication and effective listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the organization in person, via phone and with online communication.
- Understanding of general recruiting principles and industry best practices.
- Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Ability to positively present our company and open roles to potential candidates.
- Resourceful, creative thinking for searching and recruiting candidates
- Cultivates a strong knowledge of the company, industry and competitors.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with sourcing and recruiting tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Ziprecruiter, etc. a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information is essential.
- Ability to learn and continuously grow by gradually taking on additional responsibility and challenges.
- Cross company collaboration and communication, ability to adapt to assist sister companies with hiring needs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communications preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of recruiting work experience
- Experience recruiting in any skilled trade industry is Highly Preferred
- Knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS or Workday Recruiting module is strongly preferred.
- Candidate requirements include legal eligibility to work throughout Canada without sponsorship.
