Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector, Pipe.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:
- Education:
- Technical Diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Applicable trade certifications considered an asset.
- ISO 9001 training an asset.
- CWB, NACE, considered an asset.
- Experience:
- Experience in quality control in a Naval Ship Repair setting considered an asset.
- Computer knowledge with a focus on Microsoft office products.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle high pressure situations.
- Experience performing and participating in audits considered an asset.
- Experience writing and completing NCRs, CARs
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect completed and in progress work though job pack checks.
- Attend and support Inspection Test Plan (ITP) inspections with Class and Customer, report on findings identified and review of paperwork prior to submittal.
- Verify rectification of defects identified during ITP inspections.
- Provide coaching to production on deficiencies found / lessons learned.
