Kenny Jones, the longtime personal tailor of renowned Nigerian preacher, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has shared a deeply moving testimony of how his life and business were transformed after a defining encounter with the clergyman in 2012.
Jones, now a successful fashion designer catering to high-profile clients including Nigerian senators and governors, was invited by Pastor Adefarasin to speak before his congregation. The emotional moment was captured in a video that has since gone viral on TikTok, touching the hearts of many.
Before inviting him to the stage, Pastor Adefarasin described Kenny as a hardworking man whose journey from humble beginnings to notable success was marked by discipline and divine favor.
He recalled how Kenny used to take taxis to meet him for tailoring jobs, but now owns a fleet of vehicles and runs a thriving fashion business.
Taking the microphone, Kenny fought back tears as he publicly thanked the House on the Rock founder for his role in reshaping his life.
“When I met him, I was just a small boy that didn’t know where I was going. One day he came downstairs and said, ‘Kenny, the whole body of Christ needs you. We won’t allow you to ruin yourself,” Kenny said.
He went on to share how Pastor Adefarasin instilled in him a sense of urgency, professionalism, and discipline by enforcing strict timelines for his tailoring work.
“If you’re supposed to bring my cloth on Monday and you bring it on Tuesday, I’ll deduct ₦10,000. Bring it on Thursday instead of Wednesday? ₦20,000. At first, I thought he was joking, but when he actually deducted money, I gave myself sense,” he added.
Kenny credited that tough love for putting him on the path to excellence, saying the discipline helped shape his work ethic and professionalism.
He also revealed that he recently handled the wardrobe for a senator’s daughter’s wedding attended by the Senate President, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and numerous lawmakers from Abuja.
“Sir, I will continue to praise your God every day of my life,” he said, closing his testimony.
