Position Overview:
We have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Partner in our Vancouver office championing the leadership, growth, and development of our Domestic Tax practice. Your role encompasses client experience, business growth, as well as team leadership and coaching.
As a Partner, Domestic Tax you have the flexibility to build a practice and leverage your entrepreneurial mindset, contributing to the growth of our tax practice. It is an opportunity to use your expertise to deliver a personalized approach to the client’s business, by providing practical advice that is unique to their business, while helping organizations navigate through the complexities of their Canadian Tax requirements, combined with personal tax planning, and advisory services.
As a Partner with Grant Thornton, you have the opportunity to:
Play a key leadership role in the growth, management, and development of the Domestic Tax practice in Vancouver that complements, and supported by, the firm’s overall strategy for growth.
- Have autonomy in your role and be entrusted to run a business
- Mentor, coach and develop the next generation of leaders
- Champion the growth, management, and development of our Privately-Held Company Practice for South Coastal BC Business Unit
- You will have the opportunity to collaborate with GT Canada Tax Partners; as well as Partners across all service lines, sub-service lines, sectors, and geography to provide a menu of options aimed at optimizing the entirety of a client’s business value
- Work closely with a team of professionals who assist individuals and businesses with a wide range of business advisory services across British Columbia
Key Requirements:
Education
Completion of Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in related field: Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation.
Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Designation and completed CICA In-depth Tax I-III professional training.
Experience and Attributes
- 10+ years’ experience in public accounting or related industry
- Significant tax planning and compliance experience including an in-depth understanding of Canadian Corporate taxation matters
- Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on development of relationships and actively anticipating client and market needs
- Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the tax team
- Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion
- Commitment to quality, excellence, and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you lead
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision-makers
- Desire to learn and grow, and be an integral part of a team that puts “we before me”, where flexibility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back
