The owner of Black Box, a night club in Port Harcourt where a man allegedly broke a bottle on a lady’s head over a seating dispute, has released a statement addressing the incident.
This was revealed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @PH_Socials, which also featured a video of the club owner speaking out.
According to him, regardless of the situation, it is completely illegal and unacceptable for anyone to harm or inflict injuries on another person.
His response comes shortly after a video surfaced online showing a young woman recounting how she was allegedly attacked by a man at the club.
She claimed the man became aggressive after her group, who were out to celebrate a friend’s birthday, refused to give up a seat they had reserved.
According to her, the man initially told one of her friends to stop recording him and began to assault that friend.
When she questioned his actions, he allegedly picked up a bottle and smashed it on her head.
Reacting to the incident, the club’s CEO condemned the act, stating:
“The incident at Black Box is a very sad one. It’s not something any right-thinking individual should try to downplay or defend.”
“Regardless of what happened between the two customers, no human being has the right to inflict physical injuries on another, especially when there was no threat.”
He added that his stance on such matters should already be clear to those who know him, and he expressed deep concern over the violence.
Several other remarks were made in the video, where he further emphasized the club’s disapproval of such behavior.
