Galatasaray have been crowned 2024/25 Super Lig champions, wrapping up the title race with two matches remaining after a 3-0 win over Kayserispor on Sunday.
The win guarantees Okan Buruk’s side their third consecutive league title and a domestic double, having also lifted the Turkish Cup earlier in the week.
The Istanbul giants now sit eight points clear of Fenerbahce, mathematically sealing the championship and extending their winning streak to nine matches.
Their last defeat came at the hands of Besiktas on March 29.
For Jose Mourinho, the season ends in disappointment.
His Fenerbahce side stumbled in key fixtures down the stretch, including a 3-3 draw against Kayserispor and a damaging 1-0 loss to Besiktas, which ultimately saw their title hopes dashed.
In Europe, they crashed out in the Europa League Round of 16 against Rangers and suffered a quarter-final exit in the Turkish Cup to Galatasaray.
Leading Galatasaray’s charge was Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, who bagged his 25th league goal of the season on Sunday, bringing his total across all competitions to 35.
