Former Edo State governor and current senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, was at the center of a disruption at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos on Wednesday after reportedly arriving late for his flight to Abuja.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), where Oshiomhole was scheduled to board an early morning Air Peace flight set to depart at 6:30 a.m.

Eyewitnesses at the terminal alleged that upon realizing the flight had already taken off, the senator and his security detail blocked the terminal’s departure point, preventing other passengers from proceeding with their travels.
Despite repeated efforts by the terminal manager to de-escalate the situation, the senator allegedly refused to move, resulting in delays for numerous travelers and creating temporary chaos within the terminal.
It reportedly took the intervention of the regional airport manager before the standoff was resolved.
A social media user, @n6oflife6, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, wrote: “Adams Oshiomhole caused serious problems at MM1 this morning. He came late for his flight, and after the plane took off, he and his security team blocked the departure point, insisting nobody else should fly out until they sorted him out. I never see this kind of thing before.”
The post quickly sparked reactions online, with many users expressing their disapproval and sharing their experiences with flight delays and VIP interference at Nigerian airports.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the senator regarding the incident.
