<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/Adetoun-Onajobi" rel="noopener">Adetoun Onajobi</a></strong>, an activist, revealed the difficulties she had after her father died, saying that mortuaries and hospitals refused his <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=corpse" rel="noopener">corpse</a></strong>.</p>
<p>According to her, her father’s corpse was rejected by hospitals due to his membership in the Ogboni Fraternity.</p>
<p>During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, she described the obstacles she faced, including the hospital’s rejection and the need to return her father’s body home.</p>
<p>Adetoun recalled her father’s death, recalling an armed robbery at their home that resulted in her father escaping.</p>

<p>“When he died, the hospital refused to accept his body, citing worries about potential conflicts deriving from his membership in the Ogboni Fraternity.</p>
<p><em>“No mortuary or hospital could take him because he was a lodge member. The only thing we could do was bring him back home.”</em> Despite challenges, Adetoun stood firm, and her father’s body was eventually placed in his bedroom.</p>
<p>She also noted the involvement of the Methodist community, as her father was a Methodist by birth. However, due to the sensitive nature of the case, <strong>they did not reveal the presence of the body in the house</strong>, fearing robbery attempts.</p>
<p>The issues surrounding her father’s death illuminated the complexity she faced at the time.</p>
