<p>Netizens have reacted to the Nigeria Police, <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/npf"><strong>NPF</strong></a> listing insults and curses online as a <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/?s=criminal+offence"><strong>criminal offence</strong></a>.</p>
<p>The Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja Headquarters, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had made this known in a statement via his verified handle on X on Friday.</p>
<p>He noted that raining direct curses online, constitutes <strong>cyber bullying</strong>, which according to him is defamation.</p>
<p>“<em>Raining direct <strong>curses</strong> on someone online is cyberbullying, not expression of freedom or criticism. And cyberbullying, which is even different from <strong>defamation</strong>, is a criminal offence and punishable. Be guided,</em>” he stated.</p>
<p>Netizens have however, reacted to this new piece of information.</p>
<p>@General snow stated, “What part of the law says that?<br />Quote it let’s read it.”</p>
<p>Another X user, @trendwithola wrote, “Mr Ire óoo, you are misleading the public. Kindly cite the section in the constitution to substantiate it. Na your own opinion sha.”</p>
<p>@Ajebodanny stated, “Lmao what section of the law is this?</p>
<p>What you’re not going to do is twist the interpretation of the law so you can bully people.”</p>
