<p>Veteran Fuji musician <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Musibau-Alani"><strong>Musibau Alani</strong></a>, stepfather to Afrobeats star <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/asake"><strong>Asake</strong></a>, has denied allegations that he took Asake’s mother, Fali, from her former husband, Odunsi, also known as Malo.</p>
<p>The controversy arose after <strong>Malo accused Asake of abandoning him during a period of illness</strong>. Amid the family dispute, rumours spread that Fali had influenced Asake’s alleged estrangement from his father after leaving Malo for another man.</p>
<h3>‘I didn’t snatch her’ – Musibau</h3>
<p>Reacting to the claims, Musibau refuted the accusations, stating that Fali was no longer married to Malo when he met her.</p>
<p>In a recent media chat, he confirmed his marriage to Asake’s mother, a union that produced three children, though two have since passed away.</p>
<p><em>“I met Fali as a single mother; she was already separated from her husband, whom I didn’t know at the time. We got along, and she moved in with me along with her son, Ahmed (Asake). I trained the boy,”</em> Musibau explained.</p>
<p>He also recounted his encounter with Asake’s father after marrying Fali.</p>
<p><em>“I eventually met her ex-husband, Malo, who was working at a council in Lagos Island. The day he saw me there, he even told his colleagues to thank me for taking good care of his son, Ahmed (Asake),”</em> he said.</p>
<h3>‘I didn’t play at Asake’s naming ceremony’</h3>
<p>Musibau also addressed claims that he performed as a musician during Asake’s <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/naming-ceremony"><strong>naming ceremony</strong></a>, clarifying that the story was false.</p>
<p><em>“For the record, I did not snatch Fali from her first husband, and I was neither present at nor played at Asake’s naming ceremony,”</em> he asserted.</p>
