Kylian Mbappe has extended his congratulations to Paris Saint-Germain following their emphatic 5-0 win over Inter Milan in Saturday’s Champions League final in Munich.
Despite leaving PSG last summer for Real Madrid, Mbappe showed no hesitation in celebrating the club’s first-ever European title.
He took to Instagram shortly after the final whistle, writing: “The big day has finally arrived. Victory, and in club style. Congratulations, PSG.”
Luis Enrique’s side delivered a dominant performance, with teenage sensation Désiré Doué starring in a record-breaking outing.
The 19-year-old scored twice and assisted another in just 65 minutes, while Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and fellow teenager Senny Mayulu rounded off the scoring in what many are calling one of the most one-sided finals in Champions League history.
The triumph also completes a historic treble for PSG in their first season without Mbappe, who departed after years of near-misses on the continental stage.
Ironically, while PSG lifted three trophies this term, including Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, Mbappe’s debut season in Madrid ended trophyless, though he did claim the Pichichi award as La Liga’s top scorer.
The two clubs could face off soon, with the expanded FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to kick off in two weeks, potentially offering Mbappe a swift chance at redemption against his former side.
