Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has left out four high-profile players from his squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off this weekend in the United States.
Among those omitted are £150 million worth of talent, including Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix.
Sterling, who endured a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season, will not travel with the team.
Felix, a £45 million signing who recently spent time on loan at AC Milan, is also excluded.
Defender Axel Disasi, who ended last season at Aston Villa, has also been left out.
In a more unexpected move, goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has been dropped despite being tipped to step up following Chelsea’s failed bid for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.
Chelsea are set to face LAFC in the group stage, with further matches against Flamengo and Tunisian champions Esperance.
