<p><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/aston-villa"><strong>Aston Villa</strong></a> shined with a 2-1 win over lackluster <strong>Manchester City</strong> side at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.</p>
<p>The first half saw Villa take the lead with a goal from <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=jhon+duran"><strong>Jhon Duran</strong></a>, setting the tone for what would become a challenging game for the defending champions.</p>
<p>The second goal came in the 65th minute when Morgan Rogers doubled Villa’s lead, exploiting a defensive error from Manchester City.</p>
<p>However, City managed to pull a consolation goal through Phil Foden in added time.</p>

<p>This defeat marks another stumble for Pep Guardiola’s team, who have now lost nine of their last twelve matches across all competitions.</p>
<p>Aston Villa, who recently fell to Chelsea, showed class, courtesy of Unai Emery’s strategy.</p>
<p>The team’s midfield control and effective counter-attacks overwhelmed Manchester City, who failed to create meaningful scoring opportunities from open play.</p>
<p>The loss further distances Manchester City from the league leaders Liverpool.</p>
<p>They now settle for the sixth position, with Villa leapfrogging them in the standings.</p>
