A Nigerian man has shared a chilling account of how operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly stormed his apartment complex around 3 a.m., causing chaos and panic among residents.
The incident was detailed in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by user @ChuksEricE, where the man recounted his experience as the EFCC broke into the compound in the early hours of the morning.

According to him, he was fast asleep when he suddenly began hearing footsteps and commotion outside.
Moments later, he said he saw people running and jumping over the fence in a bid to escape.
He added that he heard EFCC operatives shouting at their men to pursue those attempting to flee and arrest them.
“Today, I just had one of the most traumatizing moments of my life. My hands are still shaking,” he said. “As a youth in this country, I’m not okay. Try your best not to get involved in anything illegal.”
He explained that he only moved into the apartment three weeks ago and felt fortunate not to have been arrested, stressing that the EFCC officers he encountered asked questions before taking action.
“If I wasn’t making a living legally, I would probably be in EFCC custody right now,” he said, adding that he saw armed men outside his window and knew instantly it was a serious situation.
The man reiterated that he was not involved in any illegal activity, which likely saved him from being picked up during the raid.
