A Nigerian man has called off his engagement after stumbling upon a shocking chat between his fiancée and WhatsApp AI.
According to a post he shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the man discovered that his fiancée had once asked the AI: “How can a cheating partner stop cheating on her fiancé?”
He explained that he had always known she enjoyed chatting with the AI for various ideas — from birthday gift suggestions to his favorite meals.
However, just over two months after he proposed, he decided to go through her AI chats out of curiosity.
“I knew how much she liked speaking to the AI about me… birthday gift ideas for him, his favorite meal ideas, and all that. Two months after I proposed, I searched for ‘fiancé’ in her AI chats — just to smile if she had talked about the proposal — and this was what I saw,” he wrote.
He added that they had dated for six years and started living together in their fourth year.
Yet, despite their history, the discovery made him end the relationship without any explanation.
“Till today, she doesn’t even know why I called off the engagement. She was in her final year, and her mom hates me with a passion,” he revealed.
