You will be the friendly and welcoming face of security, reassuring people that they are entering an area, within which they will be kept safe due to your diligence and vigilance.
- Shift Pattern 4 on 2 off (2 earlies, 2 lates, 2 off)
- Working hours – (earlies) 06:00-14:00 and (lates) 14:00-22:30
- NOTE: every other week one of these shifts ends at 03:30am
- 38.5hrs per week
- Driving licence essential
- SIA licence or willing to train to achieve
Your responsibilities will include:
- Search of equipment and manual search techniques, in order to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken through the Port
- Xray screening and bag searching
- Vehicle Search and Freight Search
- Controlling of access into the Terminals
- Resolve queries from customers and assist them with their journey through the Port
- Read and adhere to security notices, completing documentation clearly and concisely on any incidents that may have occurred.
- Responding to and assisting with emergency situations.
- Carry out patrols of the areas to ensure that these locations are secure.

Essential Skills
- SIA Licence desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- The right to work in the UK and a 5-year checkable history
- Ability to listen actively to others
- Excellent customer service and an approachable demeanor
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly when necessary
- Ability to follow and enforce clear security guidelines
- Flexibility to work a late shift.
Expected salary: £10.7 per hour
