Applications are invited for the full-time post of Locum Consultant Hepatologist which forms part of the reconfiguration of Gastroenterology &amp&semi; Hepatology services within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> The successful candidate will join 16 other Consultants in Gastroenterology &sol; Hepatology in Cardiff&period; The post is based at University Hospital of Wales &lpar;UHW&rpar; but may also have some duties at University Hospital Llandough&period; The two hospital sites are located approximately six miles apart although Gastroenterology&comma; Hepatology and Endoscopy across both sites are managed in a single directorate within the Clinical Board of Medicine&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales&period; The basic salary for this post is £105&comma;401 per annum&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment&sol;training history in full&period; In addition&comma; applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><b>Main duties of the job<&sol;b><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> The appointee will join 3&period;5 other Hepatology Consultants&comma; supported by specialist nurses and specialty registrars as well as colleagues in interventional radiology and HPB surgery&period; This new post will not contribute to the acute general medical intake but will provide out-of-hours emergency endoscopy and weekend cover for Gastroenterology and Hepatology patients as part of a rota with colleagues&comma; and will also participate in a rota for in-patient care during weekdays&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Although this post is full-time&comma; consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p> Applicants should preferably be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT &sol;
