A young Nigerian lady shares an account of her past birthday gesture for her ex-boyfriend, which she deeply regrets after he paid her back with pain.
The lady, @hello.paparazzi1 on TikTok has gone viral after she narrated how she went above and beyond to celebrate her ex-boyfriend’s birthday.
According to her, she travelled to the Seme border to purchase chicken and other ingredients for the event. She used her entire salary and even resorted to stealing from her mother to fund the elaborate celebration, which also included paying for matching outfits.
In a twist, the boyfriend’s response to her birthday months later was starkly different. She revealed she only received a text message from him, apologizing for not being able to buy her gifts and promising to do better the following year.
She wrote, “Back then when I was a madd girl I gathered my salary also stole from my mother, went to Seme border to buy chicken and other ingredients to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday in Igbesa poly.
“I paid for our outfits, still chop beating on top o. All I got from him for my birthday was a text in the afternoon of my birthday saying “I wish I could buy things for you, but via your understanding. I will do better next year.”
