BBNaija housemate, Kellyrae has emerged as the winner of the Season 9 reality TV show, securing the grand prize of ₦100 million.
This announcement was made during the grand finale, marking the end of a thrilling 71-day season.
The Big Brother Naija Season 9 kicked off on July 28, 2024, with 28 housemates grouped into 14 pairs.
Each pair entered the house with hopes of reaching the finale and winning the show’s grand prize.
Throughout the season, the housemates entertained viewers with countless dramas and highlights.
Out of the original 28 housemates, only 8 made it to the final week, as 20 others were evicted prior to the finale.
The final eight contestants are Anita, Kellyrae, Nelly, Onyeka, Ozee, Sooj, Victoria, and Wanni.
The series of evictions, detailed below, shaped the journey to the grand prize.
Tami and Toyosi: The first eviction occurred on August 4, 2024, when Damilola and Toyosi were sent home.
Tami, who received only 2.21% of the total votes, was in the bottom four alongside Chekas, Streeze, and the Radicals, who were saved by custodians Nne and Chinne.
Chinne and Nne: The duo, known as NdiNne, became the second pair evicted from the show, following Tami’s exit the previous week.
They found themselves in the bottom four alongside Radicals, Zinwe, and Flourish, ultimately being evicted by the custodians Streeze.
Streeze: Mayor Frosh and Toby Forge, the Streeze duo, were the third pair to exit the house.
Flourish: Comprising DJ Flo and Rhuthee, Flourish was the fourth pair to leave. Initially, they were among four pairs with the lowest votes, but Wanni and Handi saved the Beta pair, leading to Flourish’s eviction.
Zinwe: Zion and Chinwe, known as the power couple Zinwe, were the fifth pair to be evicted due to receiving the lowest public votes, closely followed by Beta and Chekas.
Radicals: The gym bros Fairme David and Mickey became the sixth pair to leave on September 1, 2024, after being eliminated based on public votes.
Following the eviction of the Radicals, Big Brother announced the end of pair-based evictions, forcing the remaining housemates to compete as individuals for the ₦100 million grand prize.
Solo Evictions:
During the subsequent love eviction show, housemates began being evicted individually.
Ben and Chizoba: Ben was the first solo housemate evicted on September 15, followed closely by Chizoba, as they received the lowest votes among the nominees.
Handi: Handi became the 15th housemate to be evicted.
Tjay: The 16th housemate to leave Season 9 was Tjay.
Shaun: On September 22, Shaun was evicted, receiving the third-lowest votes among nominees.
Kassia: The 18th housemate to leave was Kassia, a married female partner of Kellyrae, marking another unexpected exit.
Topher and Ocee: Topher from the Aces pair and Ocee from the Mbadiwe twins became the 19th and 20th housemates to be evicted from Season 9.
Sooj was the 21st housemate to be evicted, followed by Anita (22nd), Ozee (23rd), Nelly (24th), Victoria (25th), Onyeka (26th), and Wanni (27th).
