Brazilian legend Kaka has publicly welcomed Carlo Ancelotti as the new head coach of the Brazil national team, offering his support and prayers.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed Ancelotti’s appointment in an official statement, noting that the 65-year-old will assume duties later this month, becoming the first foreign coach to lead the Selecao.
“The CBF is proud to confirm that Carlo Ancelotti will become the next head coach of the Brazilian national football team,” the federation stated.
Reacting to the news, Kaka, who played under Ancelotti at AC Milan, posted the CBF’s announcement on his Instagram story with the caption: “Welcome, Mister Ancelotti! May God bless you!”
Ancelotti departs Real Madrid after a mixed campaign marked by silverware setbacks.
Madrid fell short in multiple competitions, losing the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España to Barcelona, and exiting the Champions League in the quarterfinals at the hands of Arsenal.
Sunday’s 4-3 El Clasico defeat all but confirmed Real Madrid’s failure to win LaLiga, with the team now trailing Barcelona by seven points with only three games left.
Despite the underwhelming finish, Ancelotti leaves as Real Madrid’s most decorated manager, with 15 trophies across two spells at the club.
Ancelotti officially begins his Brazil tenure on May 26, as the national team looks to rebuild following a disappointing World Cup cycle.
