1.) Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer

Job Description

Responsibilities
- You would monitor incidents of injury, illness, and other situations at Project Sites
- Design of safety strategies to reduce incidents of illness, environmental accidents, and other issues that may affect Construction workers
- Design of HSE training programs to provide safety awareness education for staff and site workers
- Develop HSE policies for Ultimus Construction
- Assessment of risks associated with tools and equipment, jobsites, and work environments
- Arrange for OSHA mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
- You must have a Bachelor’s Degree
- You must have a minimum of 4 years of work experience in similar role
- You should possess relevant OSHA certifications
- You should have OSHA expertise in the construction industry.

2.) Procurement Officer (Quantity Surveyor)

Job Summary
- Senior Procurement Officer and is involved in maximizing project margin, adding value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting.
- The Procurement Officer derives the best value from suppliers and subcontractors, carries out monthly financial reviews on projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
- Negotiate the best deal for pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Meet subcontractors and suppliers on-site where necessary
- Ensure compliance to project budgets and provide analysis of deviations
- Research new materials for design and cost savings
- Ensure that all subcontractors and suppliers provide insurance policies for products delivered
- Maintain a mutual beneficial relationship with suppliers and distributors to ensure adequate suppliers at all times for the company and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
- Establish new relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
- Handle change order requests and forecast upcoming demand
- Manage materials/equipment inventory
- Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Ensure awareness and company compliance to all building codes and local construction guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining company quality control program
- Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability
- Positively represent the company at all times through a success-oriented and professional demeanor
- Work with team members to complete duties as needed
Qualifications
- At least a Second-Class Upper Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying (Q.S.)
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor/ Procurement Officer in the Construction industry
- Must be Certified by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS)
- Proficient in standard industry software

3.) Mechanical Engineer
Job Location: Lagos

Job Summary
- The ideal candidate must possess expertise in building services, offshore dredging and diverse systems such as commercial/residential construction: plumbing, sewage, HVAC, fire-fighting and equipment.
- The ideal candidate is responsible for working on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning.
- The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
- Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
- Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
- Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
- Estimate budget and scope of project
- Solicit observations from operators
- Produce outline designs
- Conduct experiments methodically, analyses data and interpret results
- Test and evaluate theoretical designs
- Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems

Job Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Degree is required
- Minimum of seven years of experience
