The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DfID) merged on 1 September 2020 to form the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
The FCDO pursues our national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world. We promote the interests of British citizens, safeguard the UK’s security, defend our values, reduce poverty and tackle global challenges with our international partners.
Within the FCDO, Information and Digital Directorate (IDD) is responsible for delivering digital, data and technology and information management solutions and services to support the FCDO and UK Government partners deliver our international diplomatic, development and consular outcomes.
The successful applicant will work as part of the FCDO STRAPSO team , the IT systems account manager will be responsible for all aspects of user account management for a highly sensitive business critical IT system, this will include managing the process for creating, amending and terminating end-user accounts. This critical role will also be responsible for ensuring that FCDO users have access to the right material to allow them to shape foreign policy.
As an IT Systems Account Manager your main responsibilities would be:
- Managing the end-to-end user account management process, circulating relevant information and supporting the wider STRAPSO team.
- Implementing and maintaining appropriate processes to support the account management function in the FCDO.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on account / system issues.
- Limited IT fault finding and patching – acting as a pair of intelligent hands.
- Occasionally, represent the Head of the STRAPSO team at meetings and security committees.
- Site point of contact for system support provided by other government departments.
Essential:
- An active DV Clearance is essential for this position.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel).
- Ability to grasp complex information quickly and produce accurate work to tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of STRAP IT systems.
- Experience of account management / system administration functions.
- Knowledge and experience of the FCDO.
