Position: IT Security Systems Administrator

Reports To: Sr. IT Manager, Security and Architecture, Corporate IT
MAJOR DUTIES:
The Canadian Solar Corporate IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services. As a member of the IT Security Administration and Operations team, the incumbent is responsible for managing day-to-day operations to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability, and security of the Canadian Solar information assets in a cost-effective manner.
Seeking a security-focused IT specialist to support IaaS, PaaS, and Microsoft 365 for a growing Global company with a focus on major security projects.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Seeking an individual skilled in Authentication, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra), and Identity Access solutions.
· Strong technical background in Cloud/Azure Active Directory (Entra) Services and cybersecurity best practices.
· The successful candidate should also have a strong background in security technologies.
· This role will provide technical expertise, leadership, and guidance over complex technical projects.
· Identify and assess industry trends in identity products and information security.
· Provide rapid incident response/remediation to security issues and risk events.
· Manage physical and logical access and take part in routine access reviews
· Conduct email phishing and training campaigns
· Complete routine vulnerability assessments
· Provides highly skilled technical input to tactical and strategic planning and serves as the highest-level point of escalation during major service incidents.
· Takes ownership of risks associated with business activities, and ensures they are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
· Provide support and technical guidance on level 2 and level 3 support tickets and issue escalation.
· Follows security, risk, and compliance corporate policies and best practice procedures for business activities.
· Follows standard change control, ticketing, project methodology, and incident management processes.
· Responsible for seeking out all information and fully understanding all aspects of each device’s technology configuration and using all approved engineering tools available to implement conforming change.
· Able to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences and transfer knowledge to other teams or more junior staff.
· Able to manage work across multiple areas with sometimes competing priorities.
· Ensure all system problems are logged and tracked in accordance with problem management procedures. Participate in trend/root cause analysis and correction.
· Ensure all support tickets are assigned and completed within agreed-upon service levels.
· Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Inc. Code of Business Conduct or corporate policies and procedures.
· Provide occasional after-hour and weekend support as required, and travel to other Canadian Solar Inc. sites and training conferences as deemed necessary.
· Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline, or relevant work experience in the systems administration and operations field.
- Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS certifications are desirable assets.
Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of System Administration experience, preferably in a Global manufacturing environment.
· Experience with products such as BitSight, Cymulate, Netskope, Carbon Black, Endpoint Detection and Response systems
· Expert knowledge of IT processes including ticketing systems, change control, disaster recovery planning, security administration & security best practices.
· Skilled in verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
· Knowledge of IT Architectural design, definition, and implementation strategies.
· Knowledge of key business processes and a strong understanding of the technical requirements for those key processes.
· Working knowledge of project management best practices and working with project stakeholders.
· Experience in a Global Information Technology environment.
· Direct experience with Active Directory Domain Services, SAML, ADFS, Kerberos, LDAP, GPO, DHCP, internal and external DNS.
· Working experience with IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
· Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning for on-premises and Cloud platforms.
· Advanced skills with Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.
· Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory (Entra), Conditional Access, and Multi-Factor Authentication experience.
· Experience in managing security information and event management solutions.
· Email authentication protection (dmarc, spf, and dkim)
· Email security administration Mimecast or other comparable solution).
· Windows Server patching, upgrades, and Lifecycle Management.
· Scripting or automation experience (ie. PowerShell).
· Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune MDM, BitLocker, and Autopilot experience is desirable.
· Strong documentation skills and ability to provide knowledge transfer to other IT team members.
· Developing IT standards and ensuring compliance.
· Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures is an asset.
