Job Summary
As HR Generalist your primary focus will be to support the Human Resources function so that it meets both the needs of the business and of our associates. The HR Generalist will provide support with emphasis in running the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including facilitating hiring , assisting in guidance calls to corporate support teams for any employee- policy related inquiries or concerns, benefits, and leave, employee status changes and entering data into HRMS and enforcing company policies and practices. Act as a content expert regarding policies, procedures, and programs to these areas. There are other minor duties such as assembling employee badges and creating employee listings or reports. This is an onsite position and will require this individual to work in our Redmond, WA office.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensures all Company HR related policies are applied consistently.
- Responding to managers’ e-mails/calls, troubleshooting and providing guidance on recruiting system and process requirements, policies and procedures.
- Processes new hires, terminations, employee changes, transfers, and general employee database maintenance in HRIS system • Performs HRIS and SharePoint data entry including, but not limited to: new hire entry, compensation and employment changes, training and compliance documentation.
- Performs a wide range of duties relative to the accurate and timely creation, maintenance, and processing of personnel records and reports.
- Maintains and coordinates associate recognition programs.
- Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws.
- Regularly runs and/or reviews HR activity reports.
- Creating and maintaining the appropriate documentation, e.g., Manager FAQs, How-to’s, troubleshooting instructions, etc.
- Provides clerical and operational support including, but not limited to running background check verifications, following up with managers regarding missing or incomplete paperwork, assisting with new employee orientation, and preparing employee badges.
- Responds to verification of employment status.
- Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all personnel files, both active and inactive. This includes, but is not limited to: creation of physical file for new hires, filing of incoming paperwork into appropriate sections of the file for easy of identification, appropriate removal of terminated employee files, annual preparation of inactive employee files for archival.
- Understands Union contract and Compass Group policies and procedures and is able to execute daily work in accordance with requirements.
- Participates in developing and implementing HR department goals, objectives, and processes.
- Employee Relations: responding to employee questions and concerns, drafting disciplinary action when the properties need assistance on them.
- Plans and participates in new employee orientation for all staff.
- Providing assistance for general administration duties in accordance with the established process standards and requirements, such as: Coordinates and processes reference and background checks, support I9, Maintains and examines complete, accurate, and confidential personnel files..etc.
- Attends department manager meetings to increase HR visibility, conducts classroom training, provides assistance and implements HR initiatives.
- Completion of other assignments, duties and projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
- Two plus years human resources generalist experience required; management experience a plus.
- HR experience at a large, multi-unit organization required.
- Previous experience as part of a centralized HR environment, preferably in a corporate setting. • Highly adept at communicating, both in writing and verbally
- Competency to analyze and develop human resources policies and procedures.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of employees, physicians, volunteers and management.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; advanced skills preferred.
- Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Strong presentation skills required.
- Detailed knowledge of all housekeeping practices and procedures
- Strong work ethic, intense drive and initiative for quality and customer service
- Excellent administrative, organizational and problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritize tasks at the same time. • Knowledge and experience working with a team approach.
- Ability to work well under pressure within time constraints.
- Ability to maintain productive work relationships with others and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail while managing multiple complex projects and priorities to successfully meet deadlines.
