We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to providing high-quality care and a strong passion for improving the lives of the patients we serve.
About the role
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our healthcare professionals in offering the best palliative care to our patients. You will directly contribute to the everyday comfort and wellbeing of our patients.
Salary: £21,122 – £23,286 per year
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 38.25 hours per week (Monday to Sunday on a rotating shift pattern)
Location: Basildon Hospice
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the daily care of the patients, including washing, dressing, and feeding
- Contributing to the creation and update of individual care plans
- Providing emotional support to patients and their families
- Assisting with patient mobilisation and ensuring their comfort at all times
About you:
- Evidence of relevant qualifications or training in healthcare
- Committed to delivering patient-centred care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to demonstrate compassion, sympathy and understanding
