Popular Nigerian influencer Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has reportedly been arrested by the police in Abuja after raising concerns about unauthorized deductions from his mother’s bank account, allegedly by Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank).
His legal representative, Barrister Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that officers of the Nigeria Police Force apprehended the influencer at Area 3, Abuja.

According to Adeyanju, the arrest stemmed from VeryDarkMan’s public criticism of GTBank regarding suspicious and repeated deductions labeled as loan repayments.
Adeyanju stated, “My client was arrested simply for speaking out about repeated debits from his mother’s account for loans she never took.”
Before his arrest, VeryDarkMan had taken to social media to share his frustrations, posting evidence of multiple deductions from his mother’s account.
He explained that they had gone to a GTBank branch in Abuja to demand answers and request a detailed account statement.
He wrote, “My mom and I went to GTBank to understand why they keep deducting money from her account in the name of loan repayments she never took. We’ve already seen over seven deductions this year alone. We’ve asked for her bank statements to trace where and when it all started. The staff were cooperating, and we hoped to find answers.”
