Nigerian-American striker Folarin Balogun is nearing a return for AS Monaco as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.
The USMNT striker has resumed first-team training, but manager Adi Hutter confirmed he will not feature against Toulouse this weekend.
Balogun, who dislocated his shoulder last month, had been in strong form prior to the injury, scoring three goals in four matches.
While he remains ineligible for the upcoming Nations League Finals, his return will be a boost for both Monaco and the U.S. national team ahead of the summer’s Gold Cup.
The 22-year-old is targeting a comeback in Monaco’s March 15 fixture against Angers, which could set the stage for his reintegration into the USMNT striker pool.
