The Federal Government has assured Nigerians of maximum food security amidst the hardship faced in the country.
The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Aliyu Abdullahi, made this known while speaking in an interview on Monday’s edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
He noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made food security a priority in his administration, adding that it plays a critical role in the economy as a means of poverty alleviation.
He also disclosed that since Tinubu’s inauguration in May 2023, the government has rolled out programmes to ensure food security in the country.
According to the Minister, it is the vision of President Bola Tinubu to take the country to a level where no man goes to bed hungry.
He stated, “As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, because food security is on the front burner in the agriculture sector; it is the mainstream of Nigeria’s economy. It is expected to also play a critical role in the economy as a means of poverty alleviation and gender inclusivity. B
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is seriously concerned about our food security situation. Let me add that many times he would say to us his vision is for us to take Nigeria to a position where no man goes to bed hungry. We have realised that and are working very hard to make sure we achieve that.”
