The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has formally invited Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, for questioning regarding allegations of currency misuse and financial impropriety.
Sources within the agency confirmed to SaharaReporters on Wednesday that a letter of invitation was delivered to Tompolo earlier this week, and the EFCC is currently awaiting his reply.
“An invitation letter has been sent to Tompolo,” one EFCC official said, adding that the move was procedural and not an arrest warrant. “We expect his cooperation.”
The agency had previously issued a statement asserting that no individual is above the law in response to a video concerning the alleged currency misus
A man identified as @fwdaniels on X has taken to social media to express his disappointment after losing a job opportunity worth over $2,000.
According to him, he had successfully secured a freelance gig but was later dropped after revealing that he is from Nigeria.
During a conversation with the potential employer, he disclosed his nationality, after which he was informed that the company was not currently open to hiring individuals from his location.
He shared screenshots of their chat and expressed his frustration over the situation online.
